Support, strategy and sanity for dads raising girls one eye roll at a time.
Finally...
An online resource and community for dads of daughters
Welcome to DODO Dads.
This website was created for those brave men, like you, who choose to risk financial security and personal sanity only to endure radical mood swings, princess movies, doll parties, exposed belly buttons, frequent shrieking, routine tears and the slamming of many doors by a creature with an insatiable appetite for spending other people’s money – namely yours.
Whether you were blessed with just one bundle of feminine fun or a gaggle of giggling girls, you deserve the special distinction and admiration deserving of any dad of daughters.
You are likely trapped in an estrogen-filled environment and outnumbered by people who may look like you, but they certainly don’t think, talk or even act like you do.
Don’t worry! You are in a safe, friendly place. We are a band of brothers engaged in fight for our survival. Think of us as the International Affiliation of Men Admired as Dads of Daughters Only (IAMADODO).
Who benefits from DODO Dads?
- This site was created by a dad who helped to raise three girls from birth to become parents themselves — and he lived to tell the tale.
- Our goal is to help girl dads to become better fathers without being overly preachy or needing to fund an entire economy from his wallet.
- It often seems that many “fatherhood” websites are run by women. Yes, they are wonderful nurturers, but we think fathers themselves are a great resource on how to be good dads.
- We will have fun learning how to cope while retaining our sanity, and supporting men still in the trenches.
- Are we perfect? Probably. ♥ But, we are still humble enough to realize that, when it comes to raising girls, we are often way out of our league.
What do we offer?
Listen to other girl dads describe their challenges and celebrate their successes. It is wisdom born out of experience, not parenting theory.

What is a DODO?
Officially, DODO stands for Dad of Daughters Only — A guy with only girls and no boys. However, it can also apply to other situations, such as:
- Dad of Daughters Occasionally — A father with more boys than girls
- Dad of Daughters Often — A Dad with more girls than boys
- Dad of Daughters Originally — A guy who had a string of girls, followed by a son or two
- Dad of Daughters Optimally — A dad with many boys and one special princess
Basically, any father trying to raise wide-eyed little girls into strong, capable and resilient young women are welcome here.
